Metabolic health assessment and management
Understand your health. Identify your risks. Take action early.
Metabolic health is about more than weight alone.
Blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, liver and kidney health, body composition, muscle mass and visceral fat can all provide important information about your current health and risk of developing future health complications.
At Re:You Health, we provide comprehensive metabolic health assessment and management for people who want to better understand their health, identify potential risks and take proactive steps to improve their long-term health.
Who may benefit?
A metabolic health assessment may be appropriate if you:
- are living with overweight or obesity and want to understand how this may be affecting your health
- have experienced changes in weight, body composition or metabolic health
- are taking or considering obesity management medications
- have previously undergone metabolic bariatric surgery
- want to identify potential health risks and take a proactive approach to your long-term health
What does the assessment involve?
Your assessment is tailored to your individual health and circumstances and may include:
- review of your medical, family and medication history
- cardiovascular risk assessment
- assessment of blood glucose and diabetes risk
- cholesterol and blood pressure
- liver and kidney health
- obesity-related health conditions
- body composition, including muscle mass, body fat and visceral fat
- consideration of nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress and other factors affecting metabolic health.
Blood tests or further investigations may be arranged where appropriate.
Understanding your results and next steps
Your GP will explain your results, identify areas of concern and help you understand what they mean for your current and future health.
Depending on your individual needs, your personalised plan may include lifestyle and behavioural support, management of cardiovascular or metabolic risk factors, obesity management medications, further investigation, referral to other healthcare professionals, or ongoing monitoring and medical care.
