Long-term care after metabolic bariatric surgery
Metabolic bariatric surgery requires lifelong medical and nutritional follow-up, but many people become disconnected from regular bariatric care over time.
You may have had surgery several years ago, moved away from your original surgical team, become lost to follow-up, or developed new health concerns that require review.
Others may seek care because of weight regain, nutritional deficiencies, changes in eating symptoms, loss of muscle mass, changes in metabolic health, or questions about whether additional treatment may be appropriate.
At Re:You Health, we provide ongoing bariatric medical care for people at any stage following metabolic bariatric surgery.
Depending on your individual needs, this may include review of your surgical and weight history, nutritional and metabolic health assessment, blood tests, body composition monitoring, management of obesity-related health conditions, support with nutrition and muscle preservation, and consideration of obesity management medications or referral for further investigation where appropriate.
We can also work with your regular GP, bariatric surgeon and other healthcare professionals to help re-establish coordinated long-term care.
Our goal is to ensure that people who have undergone metabolic bariatric surgery continue to have access to experienced medical care and support throughout their lives.
